Here's Becky's Guide to Setting Up Your Facebook Business Manager Account
When it comes to setting up facebook ads the key thing to know is that you need to set up a business manager account. This allows you access to the advanced audience profiling tools available. It also allows you to run campaigns to facebook's audience network and on instagram.
Step 1: Go to Business.Facebook.com
Click on the "Create Account Button" in the top right hand corner.

Follow the prompts to set up an account.
Step 2: Set up your account settings.
Click on the three bars in the top left corner and click on "All Tools"
Scroll over the "Business Settings" and click
Add People, note you will have to add yourself. You can also add in employees or others who manage your pages or accounts and give them appropriate access levels.
Click on "People" in the left hand collumn
Click the Add Button and put in their email address and this will send them an invitation to join the account.
Step 3: Add Your Facebook Pages
Click the "Add Button" in the top right hand middle column
You can add a page you already own, request access to a page or add a new page
Step 4: Add Your Instagram Account
Click on Instagram in the left hand column
Click the "Add" button in the top right hand of the middle column and put in the login and password for the instagram account
Step 5: Add Your Add Account
Click "Ad Account" in the left hand column
Click on the "Add Button" in the top right of the middle column
You can add an ad account that you own, request access to another account or create a new ad account.
Step 6: Give Permission
Go to each of your assets (Pages and AD Accounts) and assign roles to those accounts.
NOTE: you will not be automatically assigned even though it's your business account.
